Traditional Stone House in Peaceful Mountain Hamlet, Privacy, Unique Aesthetic and Beautiful Views
Traditional Stone House in Peaceful Mountain Hamlet, Privacy, Unique Aesthetic and Beautiful Views
Our house is located in Vrousti, a hamlet nestled in the mountains of Argolida, one of the most important centers of Ancient Greece.
The stone-paved garden features Mediterranean plants, trees and herbs and offers unobstructed views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Choose the shady corner which suits you for reading or having a meal outdoors.
Two storey traditional house with stone walls and beamed ceilings throughout, providing an ideal setting for creation and relaxation.
The ground floor comprises a kitchen / dining area, spacious and cozy, with a dining table seating 6; an open-plan room (30m2) offering views to the garden and beyond, with a king-sized bed and a sitting area with music corner. The adjoining bathroom is large and well equipped.
The upper floor consists of a large room (50m2) with vaulted beamed ceiling and fireplace, its 6 windows offering views in all directions. There is a sitting area focused on the fireplace and a large writer's desk. This room gives onto a terracotta surfaced terrace (35m2) which overlooks the garden and is ideal for al fresco dinners and star-gazing.
The house is fully winterized, with central heating as well as a very large fireplace.
The significant archaeological sites of Nemea and Mycenae, the ancient theatres of Argos and Epidaurus are all within easy reach. An extensive network of mountain footpaths starts from the village and hikers will enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area while cyclists will delight in exploring the numerous mountain roads and paths. The Venetian town of Nafplion, located at the apex of the Argolic gulf, offers a counterpoint to the peaceful rhythms of Vrousti with its delightful shops, wide variety of restaurants and buzzing nightlife. The area boasts a wide variety of excellent beaches with facilities for most water-sports and points of departure for the renowned Argo-Saronic islands of Hydra, Spetses and Poros. Argos, the nearest main town, apart from its historical interest, covers all shopping needs and includes an extensive farmer’s market twice a week.
This is a property which would appeal to artists, writers, history lovers, hikers and serious cyclists as well as to those who seek tranquility. Because of the art objects in the house, we do not accept children.
Please note that a car is required as there is no access to the village by public transport.
