Savalen offers many opportunities for activities and excursions in summer and winter. In summer you can take beautiful walks in the mountains and forest in the area, the mountains in the area are within easy walking distance. If you are looking for mountains with more of a challenge, Rondane is only an hour's drive away. Other nice day trips are Røros or a musk ox safari on Dovrefjell. In winter, Savalen is a great ski area with good opportunities for cross-country skiing and skiing. Here you can also go ice fishing and visit Santa's house.
