At the foot of the famous medieval city of Carcassonne, the gîte offers you a comfortable stay in an ideal location close to all amenities. Access to the Cité from the street in front of the gîte puts you right in the heart of this magnificent jewel of the region. There are plenty of shops in the area, including restaurants, bars, a grocery shop and a tobacconist's shop.

You can also visit the historic town centre (La Bastide Saint-Louis) on foot, just 10 minutes away. There's plenty of entertainment during the summer season (Festival de la Cité, 14 July fireworks). If you're keen on walking or cycling, you'll find the banks of the Aude very close to the gîte, as well as the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lac de la Cavayère, a great bathing and leisure centre, is just 10 minutes away by car. From the windows you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Cité. Free public car park nearby.

Opposite the gîte is a small garage where you can store your bikes, and there is also a washing machine inside. A flight of miller's stairs (not accessible to people with walking difficulties) leads up to a large private terrace with garden furniture, barbecue and a flower-filled setting where you can enjoy your breakfasts and meals in a calm, pleasant and relaxing setting just a stone's throw from the ramparts.

The ground floor opens onto an open-plan kitchen with electric oven, 4-burner hob, microwave, fridge with freezer and dishwasher. There is also a lounge area with a TV, a sofa and two armchairs around a wood-burning stove. Heating via electric radiators, reversible air conditioning and wood-burning stove. On the first floor, there is a bedroom with a double bed (140cm) that opens onto a small lounge with a futon. This space can be used as a third bedroom if required. A bathroom with bath, washbasin and WC. On the second floor, a second bedroom with two 90cm beds. WIFI connection, TV connected to the box. Bed linen, towels, end-of-stay cleaning, logs for heating and breakfast included. Baby equipment available on request.
