In between the Roman town of Saintes and the naval city of Rochefort, this 17th-century Charentaise house is set in the heart of Beurlay, next to the owner's property. Restored to a good standard using eco materials, the 140m² interior is tastefully decorated and well-equipped with large bedrooms, two lounges, one of which is upstairs, and an attached veranda. The bedroom on the first floor is equipped with 2 twin beds of 80 x 200cm which can either be separated or joined to form a large 160 x 200cm bed. With a marvellous large enclosed garden and rose trees, it also has 3-hectare grounds. The large heated swimming pool is enclosed with stone walls and little palm trees, flowers and marble statues. Beurlay is an ideal holiday base for visiting the wealth of land and sea attractions in the area.
