Massa Marittima is one of the finest medieval towns of the Grosseto province. The historical centre includes a beautiful 13th century cathedral and plenty of lovely narrow lanes with handicraft shops.
A lot of other charming spots, not listed in guide book itineraries, include the many medieval little villages perched on hilltops, in which time seems to stand to allow focusing on the land’s and the people’ history, culture and traditions.
