In less than 10 minutes walking you're in the very historical centre of Florence and within few minutes you can visit some of the most famous and beautiful places: Piazza Santa Maria Novella, San Lorenzo with its Church and famous Market, Via Roma, Via Calzaiuoli, The Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and much more. There're also many good places nearby to eat typical Tuscan dishes. Benedetta and Lorenzo will give you some suggetsions. If you like to enjoy the nigtlife then, you'll find many nice bars and places. The areas of Piazza del Carmine, Santo and San Frediano for example are always lively and full of young people.
It would be very nice also to rent a bycicle and going through the town centre by this mean of transport! Otherwise there's the bus for the historical centre. The bus stop is in Via Guido Monaco, the street parallel to Via delle Ghiacciaie (2 minutes only!).
In general: restaurants, bars, laundry facilities, supermarkets, stores, banks, pharmacies, are within 5/10 minutes walking. The neighboorhood of San Jacopino (5 minutes walking from Casa di Olga) is very well-provided too.
